We are Andy & Annie Skinner. We run an independently owned and operated company specializing in entertainment and entertainment marketing. We book, promote and produce concerts and special events; we are designers who operate as outside consultants for other firms to identify and solve communication problems; we are marketing and promotion professionals, helping other firms meet their marketing and promotion needs; we are professional entertainers who resident DJ monthly club nights each month; and we also have run a record label and have hosted a weekly FM radio show.

 

We also own Indianapolis' largest independent record store, Indy CD & Vinyl! Our store has won "Best Record Store" in the NUVO Best Of Indy Readers Poll, "Best Record Store" in the Indianapolis Star "Best Things" Readers Poll, and "Best Record Store" in the CityVoter A-List Poll!

We have operated A Squared Industries since 2005. Clients have included the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, The Hi-Fi, The Vogue Theater, LiveNation Indiana, NUVO Newsweekly, Metromix Indianapolis, Sun King Brewing Company, Butler Toyota-Scion, Muncie Three Trails Music Series, and Kolman Dental.

As promoters we have booked and promoted over a thousand concerts and events featuring national recording artists, from Death Cab For Cutie to Queens Of The Stone Age, from The Hives to Interpol, from Cut Copy to GWAR, from TV On The Radio to Chelsea Wolfe and Ministry.

As visual designers we have designed and deployed websites including our own site, Indy CD & Vinyl (http://indycdandvinyl.com/), Muncie Three Trails Music Series (http://munciethreetrailsmusicseries.org/), and Community Enhancement Projects Muncie (http://www.cepmuncie.org/). We have designed professional logos and brands such as PHNM, Knife Fight, Lemi Vice and Action Jackson.

As experiential designers we helped re-create the Indy 500 Snake Pit in 2011, 2012, and 2013 for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

As community servants and philanthropists we have both sat on the Board of Directors for the 501(c)(3) not-for-profits GIRLS ROCK (http://girlsrockindy.org/) and MUSICAL FAMILY TREE (http://musicalfamilytree.com/) and Andy most recently sat as Director on the not-for-profit Broad Ripple Village Association (https://www.brva.org/).

We perform at our monthly dance nights SPELLBOUND and WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS, and previous residencies REAL TALK!, LET GO!, MANIC MONDAY, and PUB LIFE. Our monthly DJ night REAL TALK! was honored as one of the 10-best DJ dance nights in America by DJ Magazine! We also were the Official DJs of the Naptown Roller Girls for 5 seasons.

 

As DJs we have shared the stage with artists  Z-Trip, Aesop Rock, Flosstradamus, DJ Gant Man, LTJ Bukem, Modeselektor, Dani Deahl, Slater Hogan, Action Jackson, Lol Tolhurst of The Cure, Martin Atkins of NIN, Ministry and Pigface, Ellie Herring, Craig Pfunder of VHS or Beta, and many more. We have performed at the Indy 500 Snake Pit 3 times, The IDentity Electronic Music Festival, Wheel House Electronic Music Festival, WARM Festival and we toured with the Adult Swim Network Carnival Tour. We were voted "Best DJs" by readers of NUVO Newsweekly in the 2012 NUVO Best Of Indy Reader's Poll.
